First splashes to independent swimming
Aquatic Psychomotor Skills
A gentle introduction to the water in the small pool. Children learn basic movements, explore the water and start building confidence in their new environment.
Little Swimmers 1
Time to start moving more independently. Children practise travelling vertically and horizontally, with and without support, complete immersion and their first breaststroke arm and leg movements.
Award: Swim 5m independently on the front and back, swim on the front without a float, practise leg kicks without breathing and retrieve an object underwater.
Little Swimmers 2
Young swimmers develop their front and back kicking, start learning backstroke and practise diving from a seated position.
Award: Swim 25m independently on the back and complete three coordinated breaststroke movements without breathing.
Building skills and stronger strokes
Fish 1a
Swimmers work on their breaststroke technique while learning breaststroke turns and starts. They’ll also strengthen their crawl and backstroke kicks.
Award: Swim 25m breaststroke and 25m backstroke independently in the large pool.
Fish 1b
The next step develops stronger breaststroke and backstroke, alongside turns, starts and improved crawl coordination.
Award: Swim 25m in breaststroke, crawl and backstroke.
Fish 2
Swimmers refine all three strokes and take their first steps towards butterfly with the dolphin kick. They’ll also continue working on their turns and dives.
Award: Jump into the water and swim 200m.
Fish 3
All four strokes come together, with a focus on technique, endurance, resistance and speed. Swimmers also continue developing their turns and dives.
Award: Swim 3 x 25m using breaststroke, crawl and backstroke.
Ready for the next challenge
Pre-Competition
Ready for the next challenge? Swimmers develop their different strokes and techniques with the goal of taking their first steps into competitive swimming.
Swim Evolution
For confident swimmers ready to go further. The focus shifts to performing all four strokes with strong technique over longer distances.
Social swimming
The pool isn’t just for lessons. Little ones can splash and play, while dedicated family swim sessions give everyone the chance to get in the water and enjoy time together.
